Getting There:
he position of Hideaways Bumbusi Wilderness Camp within Hwange National Park makes it the ultimate remote safari destination. The camp is located in the northern side of Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, with an 80,000-hectare concession, offering guests complete privacy and an unparalleled safari experience.
Bumbusi is inside Hwange National Park and is a 4-hour drive from Victoria Falls, half of which is a game drive transfer or a 20-minute flight from Victoria Falls Airport to Robins Airstrip followed by a 1 ½ hour game drive to camp.
When to Travel:
For the best safari experience, visit between July and October when the weather is cooler and drier. During this time, you’ll see plenty of wildlife around waterholes, and the bush isn’t as thick, making animal sightings easier. From July to September days are warm, around the mid-20s Celsius, but nights can get quite chilly, dropping below 10 degrees Celsius. If you’re into birdwatching, plan your stay between November and April. These months bring in lots of migratory bird species but be prepared for temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius and bring your sunscreen!
